Bloodhound comes to Cadishead!
The team from the Bloodhound SSC education project came to work with the class on Friday. They showed us video clips of the 'Bloodhound', a jet powered car, which hopes to break the world land speed record in 2013. They excited and enthused the children about science and engineering, sharing their expertise and helped us make our very own Bloodhound super cars- balloon powered!
The Bloodhound car is designed to accelerate to 1,000mph in 43 seconds, is powered by a 90kN rocket jet engine and can travel the length of four football pitches per second. Our balloon cars did not quite match this feat, but we had fun all the same!
